Share your views on a bioartificial liver

If you or a family member has had a liver transplant for acute liver failure, or are waiting for a liver transplant, researchers want to hear from you.

About the research

Researchers from the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and University College London have developed a bioartificial liver called HepatiCanTM. This is a medical device which helps people who have acute liver failure, usually when they are in hospital in intensive, or critical, care. It can help support a person until their own liver recovers, or until they receive a transplant.

How can you help?

They want to understand people's attitudes to undergoing treatment for liver failure with a bioartificial liver. They are looking for people who have had a liver transplant for acute liver failure, or people who are waiting for a liver transplant, and/or their families to join a meeting on Friday 10th October from 2:00 - 3:30pm online to discuss this. You'll meet the lead researcher and a patient researcher who are developing this device, as they truly want to understand what matters most to patients about bioartificial liver treatment.

They will provide a high street shopping voucher as a thank you for your time.
