The UK Organ Donation and Transplantation Research Network (UKODTRN) can support researchers with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) at every stage of the research process.

The UKODTRN recognises the value of PPIE and its essential role in research, which can improve the quality and impact of research by ensuring it reflects the needs of those affected by it.

How we can support you with PPIE

The UKODTRN can connect you with people who want to be involved in your research from our network of over 100 public contributors. This group includes representation from organ transplant recipients, potential future transplant recipients, living organ donors, organ donor families, and carers of those affected by organ transplantation. Our community has membership from across the UK, so we can provide local involvement in your study.

The PPIE support offered will be personalised to the nature and requirements of your study. This could involve support with:

  • Focus groups and interviews
  • Advisory boards
  • Workshops and events
  • Surveys
  • Reviews of patient facing research documents
