An introduction to QUOD: how donated samples are advancing research in transplantation
The Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) initiative helps research into organ donation and transplantation by providing researchers with samples (like blood and urine) from consenting organ donors.
Organ transplantation saves thousands of lives each year, however, there are currently not enough suitable organs available for everyone who needs a transplant. To address this, researchers are looking at organs that were previously considered unsuitable for transplantation to see what can be done to make them more usable.
James Hunter (QUOD Co-ordinating Chair) will join us in a webinar to talk about what QUOD is, the types of research it supports, and why it is important for patient outcomes.
The session will last 1 hour, concluding with a 15-minute Q&A discussion with your submitted questions.
